Seem so to enjoy playing  the VICTIM CARD in regards  to the NCAA's selection of Knoxville, Albuquerque, Dayton, and Stanford as Regional Tournament Hosts...Strange - these same previously mentioned Head Coaches didn't seem to mind when their campuses were selected as hosts in the past..... Hey Sharp, Gunter, Fanning, and Goestenkors - WHAT'S GOOD FOR THE GOOSE IS GOOD FOR THE GANDER!!!....... Coaches Sharp, Gunter, Fanning, and Goestenkors..etc....How about spreading the wealth.....You must realize that Knoxville and Albuquerque are among the most exciting venues in all of women's college basketball...TOO...Coach Sharp, your home venue was absolutely selected as a pre-Sweet 16 Host because of Lubbock's support of your program = (Attendance)!!!...Yet, as you and the Red Raiders move on to Albuquerque, you were quoted as saying.. "The University of New Mexico Has An Unfair Advantage When We Play There This Saturday Night....The NCAA Should In The Future Schedule Tournament Games On Neutral Courts"....Ohh - Coach Sharp - you have become a hypocrite of convenience....Your program has gained NCAA Tournament home court advantage many times in the past!!! ... Don't begrudge other programs that same occasional opportunity!.......Also, Head Coaches - if your team should lose......... DON'T BLAME YOU AND YOUR TEAM'S  FAILURE ON THE VENUE YOU WERE SELECTED TO PLAY IN!!!...

Faison is going to hire a guy (Chavez) who was a life-long boy's high school coach before going to Las Cruces to join the men's program several years ago as the lowest assistant on the men's staff at NMSU......This just shows why the NMSU women's Bball program is so inept.....This is a program that is consistently ranked at the bottom of women's college basketball attendance ... while NMSU is located less than 3 hours away from The University of New Mexico - a program that consistently draws more than 11,000 fans per game - and is ranked #4 in the nation in average attendance...Until university decision makers install much better leadership in A.D. positions than Mr. Faison of New Mexico State Univ....(Who ridiculously promoted the now deposed Coach Lowry off the staff he-himself fired 2 years ago at New Mexico State University)..... women's college basketball programs will continue to get the same old results!!!...Mr. Faison of NMSU - you are blowing it!!! ...Show some chutzpah A.D. University of Alabama Head Coach, Rick Moody has been given a vote of confidence by U of A Athletic Director, Mal Moore after a 13-14 season - 3-11 SEC record...A.D.Moore told The Tuscaloosa News that he doesn’t plan to make a coaching change anytime soon....“I think the girls have competed hard, and I appreciate their effort for the year," Moore said. “I know in some ways it’s been a disappointing year for the players and the coaches. I feel that Rick and his staff will respond through recruiting and through great effort for the future success of this program.  I do plan to honor the remaining years on his contract.".....Moody has two years remaining on his current contract at a base salary of $150,000 per year...

Time is up at The University of Kentucky!!!.. Finally!!!...And it surely is about time!!! Head Coach, Bernadette Mattox's career coaching record at The Univ. of Kentucky....1995-96 8-19,  1996-97 8-19, 1997-98 13-15, 1998-99 21-11, 1999-00 15-14, 2000-01 6-21,  2001-02 9-20, 2002-03 11-15...Total = 91-134, 28-79
1.) Going into this week's SEC Tournament, Coach Mattox has an overall record of 91-134. 
2.) Over the last three years, Kentucky has won a dismal 31.7 percent of its games (26-56).
3.) Of its last 42 regular-season Southeastern Conference games, UK has lost 35.
4.) With Mattox's coaching contract set to expire after this season, three things seem clear.. 
a.) There appears to be no reason UK Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart should extend that contract.
b.) With tremendous resources, Mattox has made Kentucky women's hoops the worst basketball program, men's or women's in the SEC!!
c.) The pressure is on A.D. We're hearing the beginnings of some grumbling from Florida State...After a good start, the Seminoles have fizzled out to end the year (again)...At least one of the major schools in Florida...Univ. of Florida, FSU, Miami should be a consistent Top 25er...Too much talent down there to be such underachievers!

Are the wagons circling at Texas A&M???....That's the word on the street....Our opinion is that this should be a yearly Top 25 program...Plenty of resources in College Station!!

Is Univ. of Louisville in trouble?...Word on the street is that H.C. Martin Clapp is on the bubble.... Athletic Director, Tom Jurich has a history with Tom Collen (Colorado State)....Is Coach Collen the next H.C. at Louisville...?...Would be a good fit ... Collen is originally from that neck of the woods...Stay Tuned!

What's up at Savannah State?...The University suspended Women's Head Basketball Coach Robert Eskew and sophomore guard Renee Williams last week. Seems Coach Eskew and Player Williams were involved in a scuffle during the Tigers' Jan. 16 loss to Southern University in Baton Rouge, La.. Apparently Williams took her jersey off and threw it at Coach Eskew after being removed from the game for fighting with a Southern player...This lead to fisticuffs between Eskew and Williams....That's got to be embarrassing!!!

Latest rumor...Denise Dove Ianello, Assistant Coach, University of Arizona to University of Wisconsin as Head Coach...In package deal  with her husband Ron Ianello who is Univ. of  Arizona's football RC and WRs coach - He may be offered Univ. of Wisconsin  TE football coaching position.....Rob Ianello is a former member of the Badger's football staff...wants to return there.......... stay tuned!
